John and I have been blessed to have found one another and have an amazing family. We have two amazing boys that we love more than life itself! Hope you enjoy following along with our family and especially our boys!
It is amazing the changes we have seen in DJ in the last month!! He is getting so big!
Well we have an advanced crawler in our house. He is getting into everything! We bought a "corral" to keep him contained in his play area or a smaller area so we can do some work and not worry about him getting into anything. Lots of new things this month. He has also officially learned how to pull himself up into a standing position! He now is a big clapper!! If he sees you clapping he will def clap with you! His dad was teaching him to crawl up stairs while we were in Springhill, TN visiting Uncle Derek, Aunt Rachel, and Cousin Devin last month and he learned how to crawl up onto the fireplace hearth! Thank goodness it is getting warmer out and we won't need the fireplace on very much more!
Well I'm a little behind….we spent our 8 month birthday in the ER. We were at the gym and DJ was in the Kids Klub and fell out of the girls hand and hit is head. Let's just say mommy was very scared…..he had blood encircling his eye and a scrap on his nose when we first got into the room. We went straight to the ER. He ended up not needing stitches. He had a large gash over his eye, skin on his nose torn off, and a bruise on his cheek. DJ was very good in the ER…he made all the nurses smile….like he usually does!
We started crawling this month. He didn't go very far when he did take off crawling. He was getting more interested in trying to pull himself up into a standing position too. Lots of growth happening very quickly!
Today, DJ turns 7 months old! Very crazy to think he has been here 7 months already, but at the same time I can't imagine lift without him. What is DJ up to:
- He is extremely sturdy when sitting up now.
- He is rolling over more and more. He still struggles with rolling from his belly to his back.
- He can scoot backwards, but hasn't started crawling yet.
- He loves to be in his walker and has really started walking around the house. Today you actually moved from the front doorway into the living room!
- He loves his musical rhyme book that Nana got him for Christmas.
- He goes to bed around 8 pm and wakes up around 6 am (with an occasional wake up in the middle of the night).
- He loves Pear juice.
- He loves to bananas, apples, prunes, carrots, and squash.
- He really isn't a fan of vegetables so we have been getting food combinations with vegetables and fruit.
- He loves his little stuffed football that is attached to a mini blanket…needs it every time he goes to sleep.
- He is a babbler! We enjoy listening to him make noises and "talk" to us.
-He absolutely adores his big brother, Will. Will walks in the room and his face lights up!
Dj we love you so much! Life is complete for mommy! You have so many great characteristics and I see a lot of your papa in you! He would be so proud of you and spoil you just like Nana does! Your smile brightens so many people's days and you light up a room when you are in it! We are so blessed to call you our son!!! Happy 7 month birthday David John!

This is now our 5th snow day for the school year! DJ has celebrated his 6 month and 7 month birthday with us home from school. We got 7 inches of snow yesterday and tomorrow we are off due to the cold. DJ loves trying to eat daddy's hat!!! So we spent our snow day munching on daddy's hat!!
Well we have started moving…just not the right way….we go backwards! I'm actually ok with it because I'm not quite ready for an adventurous little boy yet. We are in the process of putting up the gate at the top of the basement stairs. Since we have another snow day tomorrow this is one item on the to do list! This means it is definitely time to start baby proofing the house! I think the best part of this video is his laugh!! It always brightens my day!
It is so much fun watching DJ grow and learn to do new things. He has been moving around more and more in his walker. I started putting the gate up at the top of the basement stairs….it hasn't been completed yet because it is a PAIN!!! It seems we will be needing to safe card our kitchen cabinets and drawers shortly as Mr. DJ is a curious little man! He is learning how to scoot backwards and hasn't figured out crawling yet….which I am definitely ok with! :)
Well Super Bowl Sunday didn't turn out quite like we liked it……a good game and good commercials. DJ got to spend some time with our good friends Jen and Mike! Before the game started John took DJ to get him dressed and before I know it he is videoing DJ choosing his clothes! Well DJ is a pretty good pick…may have to take him to Vegas!
